What Raspberry Pi model is compatible with Pi Case 40?

We are introducing Pi Case 40 with native compatibility with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B boards. We are already looking forward to collect demand for Rasberry Pi 3 compatibility and potentially even older models.

The design of Pi Case 40 already accounts for that, the aluminum shell has the right clearance to allow future Raspberry Pi 3 Model B compatibility with a simple change of thermal pad and it would just take an alternative bottom panel to unlock Raspberry Pi 3 compatibility.

How does the Power On/Off button work?

Pi Case 40 implements a daughter board with a button that, when pressed, shortens PIN5 and PIN6. By installing a simple repository users can easily enable the function.

The button will then be able to trigger the safe shutdown procedure and wake the board for its halt state.

How can Pi Case 40 cool my Raspberry Pi 4?

The aluminum core makes direct contact with the CPU of the Raspberry Pi board. Between the 2 there is the same kind of thermal pad we use on our high end cooling solutions and this allows to transfer quickly the heat from the CPU to the aluminum core, allowing for an higher thermal headroom and for higher clock speeds.

Will Pi Case 40 allow me to run my CPU/GPU overclocked?

Yes, definetly ;)

The design of the aluminum core is exclusive to Pi Case 40 and it is 100% solid, made out of casted aluminum, allowing for an higher heat soaking capacity that the competition.

It also includes 8 fins to allow for a higher amount of surface than any other similarly sized protective solution.

The contact point with the CPU is also carefully lapped by CNC, removing any potential warping of the surface.

I forgot to include the shipping costs in my pledge on Kickstarter, will I still be able to receive my reward?

Yes, if you did not pledge correctly on Kickstarter you have the chance to top up your balance in the survey on Backerkit.

Please be noted Please be noted: if you did not pay shipping costs during the campaign correctly or at all, you now have the chance to top up your pledge. Shipping costs are calculated based on your location and based on the latest shipping costs relative to your pledge tier during the campaign.

Example: If you purchased a reward during the first week of the campaign and the shipping cost was around 5euros per bundle, at the end of the campaign it may have increased to 7euros for the late backers.

If you forgot to pledge including the shipping costs you will now have to top up 7euros, equal as if you pledged for the reward at the end of the campaign. You can double check your pledge in Kickstarter, if your pledge includes the shipping costs of your bundle before it sold out you won’t have to top up any amount, if it does not you will have to top up to cover the remaining costs.

Same goes if you purchased a “US exclusive” bundle but you live outside the US ZONE. In this is your case you will have to top up to cover the shipping costs equal to any non “US exclusive” reward of the same type.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
